Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 October 2026
1. Who We Are and These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a contract between you and Service Stamp Ltd (Company No. 17159900), a company registered in England and Wales with its registered office at Unit 5 Grahamstown Rd, Sedbury, Chepstow, NP16 7AD, United Kingdom, trading as ServiceStamp ("we", "our", "us", or "the Service"). We operate servicestamp.com.au for customers in Australia. By accessing and using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.
ServiceStamp offers two things in Australia: the Service History Check, a report of the service records a vehicle manufacturer holds for a VIN, as reported to the manufacturer by its dealers; and the Digital Service Book, a place to keep a vehicle's own service records.
You must be at least 18 years old to buy a report.
2. Our Products
2.1 The Service History Check ($24.99)
The Service History Check retrieves the records the manufacturer holds for the VIN you enter, for 20 brands sold in Australia (Audi, BMW, Cupra, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, MG, MINI, Porsche, Skoda, Volkswagen, Alfa Romeo, Citroen, Dodge, Fiat, Kia, Peugeot, Polestar, Renault and Volvo), for vehicles from model year 2012 onwards. Coverage depends on the brand: Audi, BMW, Cupra, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, MG, MINI, Porsche, Skoda and Volkswagen return every service the manufacturer has on record; Alfa Romeo, Citroen, Dodge, Fiat, Kia, Peugeot, Polestar, Renault and Volvo share dealer workshop remarks, including recalls and warranty work, and routine services are not listed on their own. The coverage for your vehicle's brand is shown before you pay.
Every report includes the vehicle's make and, where the VIN carries it, its model year; the recorded service dates, odometer readings, the work performed and the dealer that performed it, where the manufacturer holds them; and lifetime access to the report as defined in Section 3.
2.2 Eligibility Check Before Payment
Before you pay, we read the make from the VIN to confirm the vehicle is a car, SUV, ute or van from a brand we cover. Where the VIN also carries the model year we check that too, and the make and year we read are shown to you before you pay; where it doesn't, you confirm that the vehicle is a 2012 model or newer. Vehicles that fail that check cannot be bought. The check confirms eligibility, not that the manufacturer holds records for the vehicle.
2.3 The Digital Service Book and Slots
The Digital Service Book lets you keep a vehicle's service history in your dashboard: you can upload photographs and scans of a paper logbook, workshop invoices and receipts, have them read by AI into draft records you review and confirm (Section 9), add records by hand, share a read-only page with potential buyers, and export a PDF.
- Every account includes 1 Digital Service Book
- Each completed, non-refunded Service History Check adds a free book for the checked vehicle without using your allowance
- Extra slots are a one-off purchase of $4.99 each; if a slot purchase is refunded in full, the slot is removed
- Fair-use limits apply to uploads (files per batch, documents per day and per book); current limits are shown in the product
2.4 What We Do NOT Provide
Our reports do not include:
- Records held only by independent (non-dealer) workshops
- Money owing on the vehicle, or its written-off or stolen status: these are the subject of a PPSR check, which is a different product that we do not sell
- Vehicle valuation, condition or inspection services
- Any guarantee of title or ownership
The Service History Check shows only what the manufacturer holds. A vehicle serviced at an independent workshop may show no records, which does not mean it has not been maintained.
3. Report Delivery and Lifetime Access
Report generation starts immediately after payment. Most reports are ready within seconds; occasionally the manufacturer's system responds slowly and a report can take a few minutes, in which case we email you the link as soon as it is ready.
Your report lives at a unique link, which we email to you and which also appears in your dashboard (Section 8). Anyone with the link can view the report, so keep it secure and only share it deliberately, for example with a potential buyer.
Lifetime access means your report stays available for as long as ServiceStamp operates. If we ever discontinue the Service, we will give you at least 60 days' notice by email to the address on your order and the opportunity to download PDF copies of your reports before they become unavailable. Deleting your account permanently deletes your reports (Section 8).
Format and compatibility: reports are web pages that work in any up-to-date web browser on desktop or mobile, with a PDF download that opens in standard PDF readers. Reports have no technical protection measures.
4. Data Sources and Limitations
4.1 Coverage Limitations
- Model year: vehicles from model year 2012 onwards (manufacturer-specific)
- Market: vehicles sold new in Australia; a vehicle imported from another market may have limited or no records
- Supported brands: 20 manufacturers (see the manufacturers page)
- Service type: only work recorded by the manufacturer's dealers
4.2 Data Accuracy
We retrieve data from the manufacturers' own systems through an authorised third-party data provider, and we read the vehicle's make from the VIN itself. While we strive for accuracy:
- We rely on data provided by manufacturer systems
- We cannot guarantee completeness if a dealer failed to log a service
- Manufacturer system availability may vary
- Some manufacturers provide limited information (workshop remarks only)
- Service history data reflects what was recorded by dealers at the time of service
We are not responsible for errors, omissions or inconsistencies in data provided by manufacturer systems or our data provider, subject always to Sections 7 and 12. Our reports should be used as one part of your checks when buying a vehicle, not as the sole basis for your decision. Always inspect the vehicle, run a PPSR check for money owing and written-off or stolen status, and consider an independent mechanical inspection before you buy.
4.3 Independent Records from Other Owners
Where another owner of the same vehicle has uploaded documents to their Digital Service Book and confirmed the records read from them, those confirmed records may appear in paid reports for that vehicle in a clearly labelled Independent Records section. They are owner-provided statements, not manufacturer records, and are not verified by us (Section 9.2). The uploaded documents themselves are never shown to anyone else, and no details about the person who provided a record are included. If a contributor deletes a record, a vehicle or their account, the record is removed from future reports.
5. Pricing and Payment
5.1 Price
The Service History Check costs $24.99 per VIN and an extra Digital Service Book slot costs $4.99. Each is a one-time payment. There are no subscriptions, no recurring charges and no discount codes. Each paid check provides lifetime access to the resulting report (Section 3).
Prices are in Australian dollars and are the total you pay.
5.2 Payment Processing
- All payments are processed securely through Stripe
- We accept major credit and debit cards
- Payment must be completed before report generation
- The price you see is the total you pay
5.3 Price Changes
We may change our prices for future orders. Price changes never affect orders already paid for.
6. Refunds
We refund automatically, in full, when we cannot produce what you paid for: for example when your VIN cannot be matched, when the manufacturer's system or our supplier is unavailable, or when a technical failure on our side prevents your report from being generated or delivered. Duplicate purchases for the same VIN are refunded on request.
A Service History Check that returns zero manufacturer records is a delivered report: the absence of dealer records is itself the answer. At checkout you confirm that you understand the check may return no service history. If the manufacturer holds no records, the report will say so and the $24.99 is not refunded. Reports are digital content delivered immediately after payment, and we do not refund a delivered report because you have changed your mind.
The complete rules, the request process and the time limits are in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. None of this limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Section 7).
7. Your Rights Under the Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, including that they are provided with due care and skill and are fit for the purpose we describe. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies those guarantees or any other right or remedy you have under that law. If our service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to the remedies the law provides: we will re-run or correct the report and, where the law entitles you to one, refund it.
Please note what our service is: to report what the manufacturer's system holds. A report that accurately reflects those records is the service as described, even where the underlying data is incomplete or contains third-party errors (Section 4).
8. Your Account
An account is created automatically with your order email address at your first checkout. There are no passwords: we email you a secure sign-in link when you want to log in. Your dashboard lists your reports, your receipts and your Digital Service Books.
Keep access to your email account secure, since anyone who controls it can sign in to your ServiceStamp account. You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard settings. Deletion is permanent and immediately removes your reports, your Digital Service Books and the documents uploaded to them; order and payment records are retained with personal details removed where accounting rules require it (see our Privacy Policy).
9. User Responsibilities and Content You Upload
By using our Service, you agree to:
- Provide an accurate VIN and check the make we show you before paying
- Use the Service for lawful purposes only
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer or abuse our systems
- Not use automated tools to make bulk requests
- Keep your report links secure (they grant access to anyone with the link)
- Not share or resell reports for commercial purposes without permission
9.1 Content You Upload (Digital Service Book)
The Digital Service Book lets you upload photographs and scans of your paper logbook, workshop invoices and receipts. By uploading a document you:
- Confirm you have the right to upload it and that it relates to a vehicle whose history you legitimately hold
- Grant us a limited licence to store the document and process it, including with AI reading technology, to provide the service to you
- Agree that service records you confirm may be included, without attribution and clearly labelled as owner-provided, in ServiceStamp reports relating to the same vehicle (Section 4.3) and in anonymised, aggregated datasets. Your uploaded documents themselves are never shared. Deleting a record, a vehicle or your account removes it from future inclusion
- Agree not to upload content that is unlawful, deceptive, infringes anyone's rights, or contains personal information about other people beyond what normally appears on a service record
Uploaded documents remain yours. Deleting a document, a vehicle or your account removes them from our storage. We may remove content or disable sharing links that breach these rules, and repeated abuse may lead to account termination.
9.2 AI-Read Records Are Unverified Until You Confirm Them
Records proposed from your uploaded documents are produced by AI reading and can contain mistakes. They are drafts until you review and confirm them. Confirmed records are your own statements about the vehicle, checked and approved by you. They are not verified by ServiceStamp or by any manufacturer, and shared Digital Service Book pages carry an owner-provided disclaimer for this reason. Manufacturer-sourced service history remains a separate, paid product.
10. Reviews
You may leave one review per purchased report. Reviews must be honest and based on your genuine experience of a real purchase. We moderate reviews before publication and may decline or remove reviews that are offensive, misleading, unrelated to the Service, or that we reasonably believe are not genuine. We do not pay for or reward reviews, and if that ever changes we will disclose it alongside the reviews concerned.
11. Intellectual Property
The reports we generate are for your personal use. You may use your purchased report for:
- Verifying a vehicle before purchase
- Proving service history when selling your vehicle
- Personal record-keeping
The ServiceStamp website, branding and software remain our intellectual property.
12. Our Liability
This section applies subject to Section 7: it does not exclude, restrict or modify any guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
Subject to that, and to the extent the law permits: we do not warrant that manufacturer or third-party data is complete, accurate or error-free; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on report information; and our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant report.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
Important: our service is one tool for evaluating vehicles. Always inspect and test drive the vehicle, run a PPSR check, and consider an independent mechanical inspection before buying a used vehicle.
13. Suspension, Termination and Discontinuation
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service where you breach these Terms, use the Service unlawfully, or abuse our systems or our team. We may decline orders that we reasonably suspect are fraudulent or abusive; if we decline an order after payment, we refund it in full.
If we discontinue the Service, the commitment in Section 3 applies: at least 60 days' notice by email and the opportunity to download PDF copies of your reports first.
14. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
If something has gone wrong, please contact us first via our contact form. We aim to respond within two business days. If we cannot resolve your complaint, we will tell you and give you our final position. You can also contact the consumer protection agency in your state or territory.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Australia, you also keep the protection of the Australian Consumer Law and of any other Australian law that cannot be excluded, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of the state or territory where you live.
16. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be notified via:
- Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Email notification to recent customers
- Notice on our homepage
Changes never apply retroactively: a purchase is governed by the Terms in force when you made it. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. General
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ServiceStamp regarding use of the Service. This does not exclude liability for fraudulent misrepresentation.
